Pursuing a murderer who has escaped into Indian Territory, a by-the-book U.S. Marshal Rooster J. Cogburn joins forces with a nomadic bounty-hunting Texas Ranger from the west and 14 year old Mattie Ross, a belligerent young lady on a quest for vengeance. Their travels and differences push the plot steadily through hard, emotional and at times even funny adventures as they all try to get along and catch the murderer before he gets past the frontiers and is gone forever. Each protagonist has their own motivations and methods, as the author sends them on a physical journey the reader gets to experience an emotional one delving deeper into the characters back stories and watching their travels change the people they are and will be. 













True Grit was made into a major 

motion picture in 2010.
